ChirpSense is an independent bird-tech project created by John Forsythe in 2026. The product is a small tabletop display that listens for nearby bird songs and names them without requiring a phone or app.
Who is building it
John Forsythe created ChirpSense and published the first version of the product site in May 2026. The public development history is available in the ChirpSense source repository on GitHub.
The idea is intentionally narrow: keep a dedicated display near a window, let it listen locally, and show which backyard bird is singing. It is not a phone app, camera feeder, social network, or general birding database.

What is verified today
ChirpSense is still pre-release. Product pages describe the intended production design, including local bird-song identification and a phone-free display. They should not be read as independent laboratory or field-test reports. Product images labeled as concepts are design renders.
The first batch is scheduled for fall 2026. If the shipped specifications change, the product guide and this page will be updated.
